Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2005, it has been a physically and mentally tough journey. I have met some amazing people throughout. There have been highs and lows, but I have found that by keeping a positive attitude there is nothing I can't adapt to. Above all, I have been supported by my incredible family.
After a successful career in the Army with The Royal Green Jackets (subsequently The Rifles) I was Medically Discharged with Multiple Sclerosis in December 2017. It has been a tough journey, but with the support of family, friends, support networks and retaining a positive approach (not easy at times!) I have managed to continue with a full, independent and rewarding life. Yes, there are periods when it is tough for us all, but there is much to be thankful for. Since diagnosis, I have been extremely fortunate to have been involved with numerous charities and sporting adventures. This is an opportunity to share a few of my experiences with you. Asked by my wife what will I do when I leave, I said 'have a Gap year'. 6 years later she is still wondering!! And I find the best way to do this is through some of my photos taken since diagnosis and to create a BLOG - what could possibly go wrong!!!!!!!

INSPIRE / BELIEVE / ACHIEVE
When not providing Charitable support and working with UK Veterans, undertaking activities with my Family is the number one priority - 'We all live with MS'. I have been fortunate enough to be part of Team UK in Sydney INVICTUS Games 2018 and for the 2022 Games at the Hague. Incredible and so lucky! Training for this gave me a focus and purpose. In short, sport recovery has been an essential part of my day to day management of my symptoms. Thoroughly recommend it to all.
Often found on the sidelines with other families watching our children playing sport, I find it is an inclusive community. Never being judged, it is a great place to relax and 'chew the cud'! I continue to pursue adaptive sport (Sailing, skiing, hand biking, swimming, archery and more) and am always willing to try something new. Photography is the latest hobby. But I now find huge reward in supporting others and storytelling my journey - the power of social value! Seriously powerful and therapeutic.
